So...How can I be more employable?

This word confuses me, you and pretty much everyone. What am I supposed to do to be more employable in a market that is rapidly growing and competition is inevitable?

We got you. Here are FOUR great tips to grow your employability and ace that job interview coming up. You're welcome.

1) First things first. By now you should have put down on an A4 paper, basically all your education path. Also known as, a CV. Done? Okay, great. Now don't keep it laying in one of those messy computer folders that you never clean-up. Publish it! This way it makes a much better impression plus helps organisations to find you. Simply try wix.com which allows you to create a portfolio for free. Upload your CV and send your link in seconds! You will thank us later.

2) After sorting out the vortex of who you really want to be and what career path to follow the next step is EXPERIENCE. We all frowned, got upset or wondered why on earth a graduate role would need prior experience. Industries now are multinational and require credible candidates as it becomes harder and harder to spend time to train staff. Ok,Ok we got it. How do WE get experience. Simple, grab on any opportunity possible, it doesn't have to be a fancy internship job or a global enterprise. Start low and work your way up. Help friends grow their social media and build up a portfolio showing your contribution. Help out family, friends businesses and keep track of the progress made. Plus, FREELANCE. We are so lucky to be alive in the greatest time, that we can be our own bosses and take matters in our own hands. Try Fiver.com a free space to showcase your skills and find clients.

3) We gotta be honest we all stalk people we are interested in so we can find more information about them. What we don't think about, is that companies do EXACTLY that so they can see if we are a credible candidate and a good fit for them. Friendly advice: perhaps keeps those late night drunk pics and old low-quality pictures in a file that NO ONE WILL SEE. Keep your socials professional and neat looking as if someone was checking them constantly.Your might be the best candidate in line to be accepted. BUT. If your socials indicate signs of jeopardy, simply you might miss that chance. A corporation is looking for a serious candidate that shares interesting posts has beliefs and opinions but would not jeopardise their reputation. So next time you want to post about your annoying boss X think twice, he might be watching.

4) We got a CV, experience, good socials now what? Interview! How do we show up to a 1-1 practically with the person who will give us a job without talking gibberish and shaking all over. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. The only way to perfect your interview skills is to practice. Our university offers the opportunity to practice this skill simply by booking an appointment with the careers team and asking them for guidance.

By doing these pretty much you have done more than 60% of the rest of graduate students and we can guarantee your will feel much more confident to apply for that job you've been reluctant to apply to due to impostor syndrome. You are enough. Put your self out there and pursue your dreams.

WE ARE THE FUTURE !
